Janette Garbuio 

Janette always loved, and excelled in art.  She has dedicated her life to both learning about and studying art to continually developed her skills in oils, pastels, drawing and watercolour which allows her to gain a full meaning of art.


Her personal ambition is to create visual impact that will not diminish with age and explore all the mediums available to continually advance her art. Janette has a particular passion of impression, which has been enhanced by painting “plein air” and studio studies.


Janette's artistic development commenced with June Barnett in 1978 at the Ferntree Gully Hut.  This was followed by study under Sue Hall at Sherbrooke Art Society between 1983 and 1985. In 1988 Janette pursued a Fine Arts Degree, which she was awarded in 1990.  She has also had a series of mentors which include David Taylor, Walter Magilton, Ann Randles, David Moore, Shirley Bourne , Barbara McCallum and Malcolm Beattie.

In 2005 Janette was invited to exhibit her work in the "Dreams of the Immigrates – Arte senza confine” exhibition in Budrio-Bologna Italy.  


In 2006 Janette's love of travel coupled with her ambition to experience fine arts around the world led her to create the Paesano Tours.  The Tour, which focuses on Italy, provides artists with the opportunity to paint and explore this beautiful and exquisite culture.   Additionally, Janette has also organised various artistic exhibitions including the Streeton, Roberts and McCubbins Art Exhibition at Sherbrooke, A Taste of Italy exhibitions, and the Eltham Watercolour Exhibition.

In 2011 Janette began teaching drawing and painting, to inspire others and develop their artistic skills.
