Paul Brandner

Both the refraction and reflection of light fascinates me.  Light gives additional dimensions and transform otherwise ordinary objects.

Oil is my preferred medium as it has great dynamic range and gives a wonderful vibrancy and pallet knives my tool of choice to maintain a clarity between colours.   In this way my compositions of metal and glass depict the qualities that I wish to capture.

I have a degree and a working background in photography and media and working as a product photographer for a number of years inspired the still life paintings I do now.

I currently teach art at an inner Melbourne private school and am enthusiastic to keep exploring my fascination with the qualities of light.
